The Palm Springs Int'l Festival of Short Films in the US is to feature Iran’s ‘Birthday Night’.

The 2019 Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films in the US has set to feature Iran’s ‘Birthday Night’.

‘Birthday Night’ will attend the 25th edition of the event slated for next month.

Written and directed by Omid Shams, the film narrates the story of two friends and business partners, Ahmad and Ali, who face unexpected challenges on their birthday night.

The short has attended several global events, including the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in France as well as the International Amity Short Film Festival and the 6th Mercy to the Universe International Film Competition, both in Turkey.

‘Birthday Night’ won the Special Jury Award at the 16th Wegiel Film Festival in Poland.

Earlier reports said that Iranian short film ‘Umbra’ directed by Saeed Jafarian will also participate at the same edition of the Palm Springs.

The 25th edition of the event will take place in the city of Palm Springs in California on June 18-24.

The Oscar-qualifying event is “the largest short film festival and market in North America,” according to the gala’s website.
